How we rate pull force
Each face is pulled straight up off a clean 10 mm S275 steel plate with a calibrated crane scale. We average five pulls and round down. Real finds are rusty, thin, curved or muddy, so expect less. Choose a magnet rated 2 to 4 times what you want to lift.

Safety precautions
Neodymium magnets are extremely strong. Keep them away from pacemakers, phones, bank cards and children. Never let two magnets snap together. If you pull up anything that may be ammunition or explosives, don’t touch it. Move away and call Police on 111.
