Our pull-test promise
How we rate every Mega Force magnet, and why our numbers look smaller than other sellers’ (because they’re real).
How we test
- Standard steelEach magnet sits face-down on a flat, clean 10 mm S275 mild steel plate.
- Straight vertical pullWe pull straight up through the eyebolt with a calibrated digital crane scale.
- Five pulls, averagedWe record the release force over five pulls and publish the average, rounded down.
- Every batch, every faceSamples from every batch are tested on each face. If a batch falls short, it doesn’t ship.
- Published resultsBatch numbers and test videos will be published here.
What our numbers mean
| Condition | Typical pull |
|---|---|
| Ideal steel, vertical pull | 100% of rating |
| Sliding / side load | about 20 to 30% |
| Rusty or painted object | about 30 to 60% |
| 3 to 5 mm of mud or silt | about 30 to 50% |
| Thin sheet metal (1 to 2 mm) | about 20 to 40% |
Rule of thumb: choose a magnet rated 2 to 4× the weight you expect to lift.
